Lake Jualbup project comes to a close

This consultation has concluded.

The Lake Jualbup Accord project has now come to a close. The final report has been submitted to the City of Subiaco, and provides an overview of the findings of the six focus areas of the project and the associated options. The report was informed by four key pieces of work, including:

  • RPS’s technical review on water options
  • order of magnitude costings by Syrinx Environmental
  • a community survey
  • Aboriginal heritage consultations.

The above reports, apart from the Aboriginal Heritage report, are available on the City of Subiaco website and project websites. The Aboriginal Heritage report is confidential due to provisions named in Section 7(1)(b) of the Aboriginal Heritage Act.

The City of Subiaco is preparing to submit a report to its February Corporate, Community and Technical Services (CCaTS) Committee meeting to be held on Tuesday 21 February.

The final project report from Aha! Consulting will be available on the city’s website as part of the CCaTS agenda on Tuesday 14 February. For more information, or to submit a question in relation to the project, see the city's website.

Community Reference Group

The Lake Jualbup Accord Community Reference Group (CRG) has now been disbanded. The CRG have made a real and valuable contribution to the project. They were involved in helping shape the survey process and questions, and played a key role in ensuring the process remained accountable to the community. A huge thanks and acknowledgement to all the CRG participants for their work and time invested.

On behalf of Aha! Consulting, I would like to thank you for your interest, commitment and contribution to this project.

The Consultants were asked to:

  • Review the findings of the research by Dr Geoffrey Dean to determine the impact of these findings on the options available
  • Review the feasibility of the options presented in previous reports (without 'Re-inventing' the work that has occurred prior)
  • Investigate the feasibility of emerging and/or additional methodologies being suggested (ie: use of semi-permeable membranes)
